Do what she asks, but know in advance that she will take great care to protect herself from feeling gratitude.

From: This viral airport ‘mansplaining’ story shows what male allyship can look like.

  1. A feminist endures the unbearable experience of a stranger in an airport telling her his opinion on a topic she is highly credentialed in.
  2. A white knight gallops in and scolds the stranger for mansplaining.
  3. The stranger makes the mistake of apologizing in order to make the feminist happy.
  4. The white knight responds by going full melodrama:  “No, man, you gotta live with the consequences of your mistake. Time’s up.”

The feminist closes with a call for men (who are evil and naturally want to harm women) to solve women’s problems:

Finally, she left men with a call to action. “Menfolk, will you please make this happen more often?” she wrote. “I could get by on half the energy it currently takes me to exist in the world if y’all would each take on one or two airport guys a month.”

Men may not realize how much energy dealing with sexism on a regular basis actually takes. If more did what Scarsella’s colleague did—speak up for a woman without speaking over her when a man exhibits sexist behavior—it would make life so much easier for half the population.

But know in advance chivalrous men that since she is an ugly feminist she carefully rejects ever feeling gratitude.  She clarifies that her post is strictly focused on nagging men, and should not be mistaken as praise for men who do as she demands (emphasis mine):

The ease with which my new friend expressed his priorities signaled a long term, practiced commitment to not only holding them in his mind but to embodying them as well. I wish I encountered this more often. My new friend shouldn’t get accolades. I’m not writing this to praise him or put him in some kind of weird male savior position. His priorities should be normal and interrupting sexism should be mundane. But they’re not, so. Here we are.

    It is always the same:

    1. Men should always do what women want them to do (which can be different depending on the woman, her mood, etc)
    2. If men don’t do that, complain and bitch.
    3. If men do that, they are not to be praised. They only do their duty. See point 1.

  2. feministhater says:

Man has conversation with woman and gives his opinion on the subject. And he is scolded for this?! Are they fucking insane?!

How about this. Just leave them the fuck alone.

  3. Red Pill Latecomer says:

What sexism? She encounters a man who expresses an opinion contrary to her own, and that’s sexism? Not only sexism, but “energy draining” sexism?

What travails, what hardships these Strong Independent Women must suffer every day! Contrary opinions! This is so wrong, so abusive, so energy-draining, these evil men who disagree with her must be silenced!

  4. thedeti says:

Mr. White Knight is not entitled to accolades or praise. He, and all other men, are required to save women from the indignities of mansplainers. She’s entitled to men’s “help” in confronting eeevil mansplainers. It is her birthright.

Mr. White Knight thought his sticking up for the theology student would make him more attractive. It didn’t, it won’t, and it never will. It also didn’t show him as “down with the MeToo cause”. He’s just another man “using his male privilege”.

But I wonder: Why does this woman need a man to speak up for her in an airport? If she’s so strong and independent, can’t she do it herself? Can’t she just get up and walk away? Can’t she tell the blowhard mansplainer she’s not interested in talking with him? Or be more direct and tell him where to step off?

Bottom line is that white knights are beta orbiters who are probing the women they defend for sexual interest and availability.

Was that really “mansplaining”? It sounded more like a narcissist who needed some attention. How does a random guy approach a woman and happen to have exactly the same interests/specialties?

Once these females have new foreign male masters who have slightly less tolerance for theri silly bullshit, it would be fun to watch them driven back into their places, bloodily if necessary.

Seriously why would you say anything at all to her? I can’t think of anything more interesting to do on a long flight myself….
well, watching paint dry might be more fascinating, but still.

  17. Another example, a long Twitter thread by a feminist history professor.

“Something happened while running this morning and I haven’t been able to shake it, so now sharing. Army national guard was out doing a time trial. I see them when they’re out because I run every day. So they’re running for time & I’m running relaxed, but faster. Cause I’m fast.”

    Her day is ruined because…

“I cannot tell you how many times my running has been used as a motivational tool to inspire men. To not be passed by a woman. To not succumb to humiliation. To rise up & claim what’s theirs. To achieve what they’re truly capable of. ‘Hurry up, X, she is coming!’ ‘Hurry up, Y, or she will pass you!’ Emphasis on the She, and the X or Y or Z is always a He. So many times. It’s tiresome.”

It’s so “tiresome” when people speak to each other (not her) in a way she doesn’t like. It must be wonderful to be so sensitive!

The full thread is a fine example of 21st C American feminist intellectual. And she’s “fast”, as she tells us several times! She doesn’t mention the length of her run vs. that of the soldiers.

  18. Spike says:

    A new word: “Allyship”
“Allyship” is the legitimate word for the derogatory term, “White Knight “, or “mangina”.
In future, the mature, progressive career woman who refused the evil of marriage will no longer refer to the man in her life as her “boyfriend” (it’s a little funny, since he is an adult) , so she will introduce him thus:
‘And this is my ally…..(insert name)”.

  20. Anonymous Reader says:

Another snowflake heard from. People say all kinds of stupid stuff in airports. Even women do that. Someone with some basic social skills can steer such a conversation, or deflect it, or even end it. Most people know how to navigate slightly awkward things like this by the age of 25 or younger, but perhaps if one lives in an academic / social-justice bubble where every microaggression is tallied, such skills are not needed.

    Too bad for her.

-Anyone working in academic circles or with ”highly educated” women – and I do – knows this to be true.
Women with an alphabet of letters after their names always without fail have a long trail of human wreckage in their lives. The stories are endless, about the artistic hipster she shacked up with just out of high school and in her undergrad years, to the ”abusive” boyfriend she stayed in a relationship with for 2 years so she could finish her thesis, to the man she was to marry but she found he already was. They ”don’t want to be married until they’re absolutely sure”, that is, until it’s 5 minutes to midnight on the reproductive clock. Then ANY guy will do to have children with, RIGHT NOW. Then follows misery and divorce, with him being somehow to blame.

I entered university working-class and Christian, two traits that instantly got me sneered at and patronised. As a young man, it bothered me, until I realised they had absolutely nothing they could offer me, not in this life or the next.

  29. Nick Mgtow says:

The book is an indictment of modern feminism, its second wave in particular. Second wavers, she argues, “were determined to change what women wanted altogether.” They were “radical, unhappy, and, ironically, enslaved to the ideas of two nineteenth-century dead, white, European males, Karl Marx and Sigmund Freud. The worldview of second-wave feminists was completely wrong about women, history, and human nature—and it left a lot of wreckage in its wake.”

These feminists insisted on a new set of standards for women, ones that seemed strangely masculine despite all the talk about patriarchy. The results speak for themselves: the #MeToo movement currently roiling the country is just one manifestation of one of the ways that feminism has utterly failed to deliver on its promises of freedom and equality with men.

Charen’s map of feminism’s trajectory is uniquely comprehensive, accessible, and most importantly, honest, and her methodical takedown of second-wave feminists is particularly enjoyable. In pathologizing femaleness, to use her words, second-wave feminists set future generations up to fail. She writes:

Of the major second-wave feminists, none had a lifelong successful marriage. Few were mothers. The conventional script of marriage, work, home, children, and grandchildren (something most women hope for) was not their goal. They seemed determined to persuade American women that these things were traps and snares.

Question: if a man wearing a dress talks down to a woman, is that mansplaining? If a White Knight intervenes, is he now mansplaining, or just being abusive to a poor, hepless l’il woman?

Y’know, it won’t surprise me if some MGTOWs decide to play dress up just to mess with people, especially with women of academicalness. Nope. Won’t surprise me. a

But seriously folks, tranny men invading women’s sports and possibly dominating them is likely to be a done deal. This is the logical conclusion of the feminist insanity about “gender” as a social construct. Should be some fun times in Federal courts over exactly what Title IX means when it refers to “women”. Let’s see, allow man with a bow in his hair to dominate “women’s” sport, or decide he’s not actually a “woman”?

Well, of course. Artificial Intelligence will ruthlessly push forth the truth, which by definition is in direct opposition to what is mandated as ‘politically correct’.

I have been predicting this long before such articles began to emerge. And no, AI cannot be programmed to propagate ‘feminism’, for reasons that have been explained at depth many times before. AI ruthlessly uses data that has been proven to correlate to productivity gains, which by definition will expose women negatively, contrary to myths about the ‘pay gap’ and more.

  47. Anon says:

    Nick MGTOW,

The book is an indictment of modern feminism, its second wave in particular.

Pondering the ‘waves’ of feminism is useless and ensures that even the critic will fail to see the big picture from the standpoint of evolutionary hardwiring that is is millions of years old.

The ‘waves’ of ‘feminism’ in just one country’s experience of the FI are akin to observing three different pine needles on one tree in a forest, while being oblivious to the forest.

  48. I want to know exactly what the consequences of “mansplaining” are? Anyone? Anyone?

  49. If more did what Scarsella’s colleague did—speak up for a woman without speaking over her when a man exhibits sexist behavior—it would make life so much easier for half the population.

A growing number of men longer give a fuck whether “life is so much easier for half of the population” or not. This goes especially for any woman on an airplane these days, but especially those who show up during boarding to row 19 with an overweight carry on bag, and then stop and look to you with a grin expecting you to help her lift it up to the overhead compartment, because if she tries to do it, she will hurt herself or kill someone else.
I now count myself among such IDGAF guys. I’m not helping her.

Whether or not some man, or group of men, decide for themselves to make life easier for her or not, is one thing.

But it most certainly is not a license for women to incessantly complain, issue demand, or to castigate other people publicly whom they don’t even know.

It is also not a license for women to defy facts, reason, logic and the truth.
The fact that facts, reason, logic and the truth fall into her category of “mansplaining” is irrelevant.

I think we have gone past the point of telling adult women anything anymore. They are pretty much overgrown insolent children with no sense of responsibility or accountability.

All anyone can do is implore young men to grow a spinal column::

“Just tell her No! Women are not entitled to the deference and service of all men. Of course, a woman can find herself a man and then attempt to persuade him to be deferential and of service to her. But as for all of you other fellas out there, no, you don’t owe her a goddamned thing. And as for “respecting women”? Respect is earned.”

  50. earl says:

I now count myself among such IDGAF guys. I’m not helping her.

I mean do women really think men would continue to do what they are doing if all women do to repay them is complain, disrespect, and emasculate? Shoot helping guys is at least repayed with a ‘thanks’ quite often if not food & booze.

It’s better to DGAF because if women want to live their delusional state of affairs that they don’t need no man for anything…then let them. They’ll either begin to see the importance of our authority or double down on their bitterness to a fruitless end.

Now if a woman asks for help and doesn’t go on a demanding rage…then I might consider it. But it will not be given unprompted anymore. A little politeness and humility goes a long way.

    Yes.
At the societal level, this has been working just fine for years. Decades. Why should they stop?
At the individual level, if you put on The Glasses and look around, you can see married people like this. The contempt is not always obvious, and many women reserve their truly bad behavior for private times with no human witnesses, but it leaks out in various ways – little passive-aggressive shivs, the “he can’t do anything right so I’ll do it” game, barking/snapping orders. Etc.

Women’s bad behavior is rewarded rather consistently from the micro (individual relationship) level to the macro (societal). It “works” to get them what they want in the short and intermediate term. Why should they stop?

  61. DR Smith says:

Except there are starting to be more and more men that just don’t care what a woman thinks about them. Funny thing they seemingly have no clue just how bad and dangerous this is for them….they keep going on like the woman whom wrote that article did about all sort of nonsense most men will not even bother processing (except the blue pilled blue balled guy whom apologized to her in her story).
Just a couple days of go, there was a 60ish Hilary voter (yes, you can tell them apart from true conservative god fearing god believing woman) walking out a door of a local grocery store about the same time I was walking in the vestibule area – there are two doors to open to go in or out. She was clearly expecting me to wait for her to go through both doors. Instead, I opened the outer door and walked in then proceeded to walk past her as she wanted to walk out the first door. She started to protest by saying “Why I never…” when I just turn around after I walked in the store and glared at her, and she then left on her way without any more words…oh and he husband was with her, too, and he never said a word.
I love to do this a much as possible -these cat ladies need to be put in their place as often as possible, just like Stormy was recently. Maybe then they will start to get a clue….but I doubt it, as they will go to their graves in denial and full of self importance.

This is a perfect example of: “Let’s you and him fight”. And as long as there’s a surplus of men a portion will follow orders and try her strategy hoping for access to the poon. Both men made mistakes. The second’s (the white knight) mistake is obvious. The first man’s mistake was to engage a female stranger in an analytical, rational conversation – as well as not sticking to his guns with irrational confidence. Unless they are family or spouse interaction with females should be strictly formal and superficial. Otherwise they should be ignored entirely and no confident man should feel the need to impress a highly-credentialed feminist with his smarts. That is one thing Vox Day has got right, though his position is an extension of the Pence Rule.

  67. DR Smith says:

    @ feeriker

I used to ignore them, but that did not stop then from volunteering their opinions, especially when I am out with my 8 year old daughter. I respond they way I do for two reasons: because it is fun, and also to teach my daughter a lesson – the way things are nowadays and in the foreseeable future, don’t except to be treated like a lady unless you act like one and not a self absorbed wannabe male ball buster. Fewer and fewer men are accepting woman’s general “I am woman, hear me roar” entitlement behavior, and I do not want my daughter to start down that path.

Question, does anyone have any suggestions on what to do if, like the story, some cretin leans in and tries that kind of white knighting? What is the best response?

As Burner Prime pointed out, this is a case of “Let’s you and him fight”. So I would say the best response is to take down her game. How? She wants to pit you against the WK, so instead of complying with her strategy, try to establish rapport with the other man by speaking positively, and only to him. Reject her frame by leaving her out of the remainder of the talk. For example, you could say (to him), “I’m so sorry, man! Your wife didn’t tell me she was married! My bad…” Then make a hasty exit and let them bat it out. He’ll feel like a man, and she’ll be mortified. He’ll also get the chance to see her more clearly.
Feeriker’s approach works too. Just walk away, or don’t talk to strangers in the first place.

Laugh and say “I had no idea people actually say things like that in real life!”

Sheath thine blade, fair knight! Guinevere’s honor remains intact!

    Why should they stop?

The only reward they get is some short term goodfeelz from their bitterness. It seems over time they end up alone.

She was clearly expecting me to wait for her to go through both doors. Instead, I opened the outer door and walked in then proceeded to walk past her as she wanted to walk out the first door.

Yeah, that happened to me yesterday. I was walking on the sidewalk, on the right hand side. A young bimbo was jogging in my direction, on the same side. I suppose she expected me to move. Instead, I looked down at my cell phone, pretending not to notice anyone coming.

Instead of going to the other side of the sidewalk, she jogged past me, so close she nearly brushed me. Like she resented having to move even that much to get past me.

I have noticed this phenomenon of women coming toward you, expecting you to get out of their way. It is fun to remain rooted in your spot.

When you have degrees in a soft, subjective subject with little in the way of hard empirical knowledge. it’s a risk you take that random people on the streets will have opinions as strongly held as yours and think themselves just as entitled to argue their positions as you. It’s because they’re correct that their opinions are as valid as yours.

They’ve probably seen enough men defer to them they just expect every man to.

I’m the same way now…what’s a woman going to do…run me over when I weigh probably a good 60-80 lbs more than them (morbidly obese exempt).

I mean if a comedian can logically figure it out…why can’t you?

I liked both these responses a lot. Thanks guys.

I read the story again, then noticed something that I see more and more -these ‘mommy’ blogs are great and putting out all these stories about feelings and feminism and other assorted crap, but they don’t want anyone to provide comments on their thoughts …hmmm, I wonder why that is?

This is just but one reason why they can’t be taken seriously….just like the so called highly experienced woman in the story whom couldn’t be bothered to defend herself, relying on the beta white knight instead. Real issue as long as these white knights exists, these woman by default will continue to exist.

Loretta Lynn, after loads of accolades, piles of $$, calls out the evil misogynistic country music industry:

Shows ta go ya there’s no age limit for stupidity and there were no “good old days,” just women who were less vocal with their ingratitude.

Of the major second-wave feminists, none had a lifelong successful marriage. Few werIe mothers.

I’m not sure who she’s referring to. Betty Friedan was supposedly insufferable face-to-face (something to which her estranged husband attested) and Gloria Steinem knew nothing of building and maintaining a domestic life. Both of Karen deCrow’s marriages were childless. Patricia Ireland abandoned one husband and brazenly cuckolded another, and had no children. OTOH, Bella Abzug, Eleanor Smeal, Molly Yard, and Letty Cottin Pogrebin had or have had lifelong marriages with children. (It’s a reasonable inference that the Abzug household had occult problems inasmuch as both daughters took up lesbianism, though one appears to be a lesbian of the Susan Sontag type).
