Dreaming of being one of the guys.

Advertisers often sell us aspirational views of ourselves.  They sell us our own dreams.  One of our greatest collective aspirations is for women to become like men.  LaQuinta motels taps into this dream with the following ad:

Rival chain Motel 6 is selling the same dream.  Women who stay here will be one of the guys!

Being “just one of the guys” is number one problem with woman in the West today.
I remember when my newly married wife tried to do this, be one of the guys. She now proudly admits she has no interest in being one of the guys and as a result, our marriage and home life is much better…took a lot of of work to have he get rid of the feminist thinking from her, however. The dark side is strong……..

In the previous century I knew some 2nd stage feminists who asserted that Freud’s notion of “penis envy” was mistaken, that what women wanted was not a penis per se but all the rights that penis-bearing humans receive “just for having a penis”. In other words, they wanted to be Just One Of The Guys. In my foolish equalitarian equalist mindset this seemed like an OK idea.

The problem that cropped up time and time again? Girls can’t really be guys. There are exceptions, but the brain wiring that results from estrogen vs. testosterone is real. Time after time I have seen women who are all about YouGoGrill until the stress gets real, the chips are down, and then suddenly….”I’m just a girl! Don’t make me handle this!” right at the moment when everyone on a team has to pull extra weight. But woe to the man who steps up to take that burden just for a minute, for he shall find he’s got it forever. He may get branded an oppressor, too, because of some reason or other.

Women want more than they can handle, especially that double order of fried ice.

If I’m reading the screenshots of his tweets right, that male feminist is urging other men to go vegan, which will lower testosterone, causing long term physical and mental harm. Low – T men are often depressed, for example. Why would a man want other men to be depressed?

The “nice guy vs. good man” posting is feminist drivel, although it is amusing to see a feminist criticizing Blue Pill traditionalist Jordan Peterson. It’s the kind of nonsense that is force-fed into boys in the K – 12 system, and also in the university system. It is a fitness test, and men should not take any advice from this feminized guy if they value themselves as human beings.

Notice in the La Quinta video the female has a plunging neckline and also reveals a certain amount of thigh. I would object to such a double-handshake from a man and even more so from a woman indeed – call me old-fashioned – I detest shaking the hand of a woman in any circumstances and do not proffer my own to a member of the female sex. Handshakes are a bond or form of trust between two men which when broken will lead to a no-holds barred situation. As attacks on a woman are not permissible a handshake with a woman is meaningless play-acting.

It is also unfair on the woman: a couple of years back I went to my G.P. who turned out to be female. For some reason to test my grip, she asked me to shake her hand. I did so. I suspect that she is still suffering from the pain I inflicted. I only did what I was asked to do.

He is. He will be forgiving all kinds of sins, but woe to those people created as men, who refuse to be men. Or those causing others to be unable to be masculine.

Masculinity is a gift from Father, but it is also an obligation. None of us are expected to be perfect at it, and certainly not near Christ’s standards, but we are required to comport ourselves with the masculinity instilled by Father. To do otherwise is to reject Father, and that will not be excused.

Soy is an estrogen mimic, like bisphenols and other compounds. Men should avoid it for health reasons. It is difficult to do so, as soy products are cheap fillers in processed foods. The term “soyboy” is overused, but it has some truth.

Note that in East Asia soybeans are not directly cooked and eaten, but rather they are processed into something else such as miso or sauce or tofu. Fermentation changes things.

Grip strength is a useful proxy for general health in men. This is another one of those things that was common knowledge the pre-20th century, that became questioned and discarded, only to be rediscovered by “science” in the last 25 years.

In movies, it’s often the kick-ass women who challenge the men to drinking contests, arm wrestling, knife throwing, target practice, or just going to a strip club.

You’ll have a group of macho marines, or whatever, with a kick-ass woman in the group. She challenges a man, and of course, she wins. All the men shout their admiration and approval, acknowledging that this woman is truly “one of the guys,” even their superior.

These kick-ass women are played by petite (but big-breasted) Hollywood bimbos, and the men are all big, burly, and macho. In these movies, the kick-ass women always beat hyper-macho men, not mere soy boys.

Opus, recently I was reading the plot – such as it is – to Rossini’s opera The Italian Girl in Algiers [1]

    (For others: https://infogalactic.com/info/L'italiana_in_Algeri)

In 1813 it was a comedic device to have the tenor held prisoner by the Algerian Bey rescued by the Italian Girl. Ever since Alien it has become a standard and serious plot point to have a male protagonist rescued by a kick-ass girl.

The joke of 1813 has become the serious requirement of 2018. When will the Mad Hatter pour tea?

[1] No aspersions on Rossini intended, he was a musical and business genius. I would much rather sit through all the hours of a full performance of his William Tell opera than half as many hours of Wagner. Because of the music.

  35. Paul says:

@AR: “Soy is an estrogen mimic, like bisphenols and other compounds. Men should avoid it for health reasons.”

On the contrary, several studies show the health benefits, especially for men. You should be more worried about (growth) hormones in (female!! cow, sow, ewe) meat. Some snippets:

    https://www.drfuhrman.com/library/eat-to-live-blog/137/dont-fall-for-the-myths-about-soy

Soy isoflavones have additional anti-cancer effects. In a 2009 meta-analysis, higher soy intake was associated with a 26 percent decrease in prostate cancer risk. Soy has also been linked to decreases in risk of lung, stomach, and colorectal cancers.

    https://newtownnutrition.com.au/soy-hormones-myths/

Whole soy foods are beneficial for health, the evidence is overwhelming. They are minimally processed, meaning they retain a lot of their nutrition including essential nutrients (meaning we must get them from our diet) such as iron, calcium, zinc and protein to name a few.

evidence suggests phytoestrogens in soy foods do not affect male hormone systems or testosterone levels. The meta-analysis concluded that neither soy foods nor isoflavone supplements affected testosterone levels in men.

I’ve been holding back quite a bit on my handshakes with both men and women since about Jr. High School. As a kid I got one of those hand grippers and became quite strong with it. We had a wellness fair at work and I narrowly came in second on a hand grip tester out of thousands of other men. I currently own a 250 pound hand gripper that I am using. Lord willing, I will not be beaten at the next wellness fair! I also like to crack walnuts for my sons by squeezing a couple together in one hand. Sometimes I have met men who seem to try to really give a tight handshake, and I always wonder why they feel like they need to do that. Nobody has ever complained or made fun of my gentle handshake. My hands are extra large or XXL, so most people really can’t give me a proper handshake anyway. It only ever feels right if the dude has huge hands. I wouldn’t squeeze a nurses hand my hardest if she asked me. I have declined before and just told them I literally crack walnuts with my hands.

Hebrews 13:4 Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the marriage bed is to be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.
Women are often jealous that men are in the image and glory of God. Somehow women just know men have something they can never have, and sometimes they want to degrade or destroy what they cannot have, out of spoiled jealousy. They go from lustful hypergamy (wanting to posses it through becoming one with it) to a jealous and destructive rage after being cast aside.(wanting to degrade & destroy men, because they are in fact now defiled and they are split between others, unable now to achieve holy oneness with any man in the image of God), The churchians never teach women to be content with their place. Through the lies of feminism they get women to destroy their chance at the honor of holy matrimony by defiling their marriage bed. They encourage women through feminism to try to become equal or claim equality to men in ways that they are evidently not created equal. They are equal heirs of grace, but some would say all grace is unmerited. Women were not created to be equal, and they can never merit a position that was not created for them, they can only, if they are chosen and permitted, become united as one flesh with a man(God’s image and glory), woman’s’ highest possible earthly rank is to be the wife of one man.

This is more of a legitimate arguement for guys ‘manning up’…than building a better beta for women. If this was what the pastors gave as reasoning for manning up because that’s what the Father wants rather than conforming it into what women want it might make more headway.

I don’t want to turn this blog political but it might surprise you to learn that in the lead up to the election of your 45th President I heard from a number of acquaintances on this side of the pond how terrible was Mr Trump, in fact I have never heard anyone say a good word about him. The least awful thing I heard was when I informed my sister in passing that I was at the very least sceptical as to man-made global warming her response being ‘who, you and Donald Trump?’ but I don’t suppose she accepted that we are not as I informed her by any means the only two (indeed I was not aware that global warming was something on which The Donald had already expressed a view). On enquiry of my acquaintances as to why DJT was ‘literally Hitler’ and what reason there was to think that he would send everybody on a one way trip to Auschwitz and thus deserved to be assassinated, consistently no reply came. This I thought very strange.

The word Fascist comes from the Roman, Fasces, who were people entrusted – so far as I can understand – with keeping the peace and for that purpose had bundles of sticks – the fasces. Fascist is thus just a Marxist insult.

You fail to mention the ‘Fascist’ General Franco, who brought his country back to sanity and produced the nicest collection of well-behaved young females one could wish for. Sadly even Franco could not live for ever and Spain is reverting to a Marxist Hell-hole with some very unpleasant females.

Well, yeah, ok…except that GW Bush was also “literally Hitler” and his daddy GHW Bush was likewise and so was Reagan and I guess so was Nixon and even Barry Goldwater back in the 1960’s was supposed to be somehow connected with aging agents of the 3rd Reich – at least there were still real, genuine Nazi’s alive back then. So the US has had a whole string of Literally Hitlers, yet oddly enough it doesn’t resemble 1930’s Germany very much, with the possible exception of the Gun Control Act of 1968. Go figure.

Oooo now thassa keeper. Encapsulates the problem perfectly. What a great opener for a sermon that line would make. Just that, and then silence for about a minute as it sinks in. Whilst they squirm and begin to perspire.

Few Christians are aware that the male and female were created by different methods, with differing spiritual foundations and imperatives. Despite the Bible being utterly clear on it. I’d suspect most modern Christians, faced with this truth, would either ignore it, or attempt to argue their way out of it, or around it. And, pro forma, they’d get mad. As a group, because that’s the safe way.

Modern Christians mirror the secular world around them, which is based on the assumptions of equality — everyone is ‘born equal’ etc., and how DARE you imagine yourself ‘better’ than me! Obviously that’s a foundation of America herself — ‘all men are created equal’ which, to be sure, they are not. In truth, nobody is ‘created equal’ — that’s the kingdom of Satan. The Kingdom of Heaven is ordered hierarchically, even as it presents on this Earth, and whoa babies! do The People hate hate HATE that. And rebel endlessly against it.

Anyways good luck with that grip pressure!

1 Corinthians 6:9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,

I personally think Paleo is an unbalanced fad diet. It is good for losing weight, and staying lean, but who knows how well it will work for long term health, plus it is expensive. I favor a more balanced diet, and one where you can eat whatever is being served, if need be. I eat less than I’d like to, to stay trim, but I have about 2 or 3 cheat days a week, where I eat exactly like I want to. Mainly I try to stay away from junk, and not to drink too many calorie filled liquids.
I try to stay a great specimen, I’d like to think I’m taking good care of my temple, for God, myself, my wife, my kids, and others, and not just vainly trying to hang onto my youth. I’m 210 pounds with visible abdominal muscles, and I think that is rare considering my age, and that I don’t live in Hollywood. And I’ve always been stronger than I look, compared to other guys. I sometimes meet guys with bigger muscles that are not as strong as I am. They used to say I was just “cockstrong” because I didn’t have really bulgy muscles, but was squatting 3X my bodyweight. People would assume I didn’t do a lot of lifting, initially, because I was lean and had a difficult time putting on mass when I was younger. Part of that may have been because I was trying to gain weight by eating lots of meat, and not those “empty carbs”, later on I found out that the way my coaches had told me to gain weight, became popularly known as the Adkins weight loss diet. LOL Live and learn. Freaking experts! I shouldn’t have listened to somebody with a degree in P.E.

I always thought our declaration of independence meant that all men were created of equal worth, and equal in rights. Since it is self evident that we’re not equal in size, and other characteristics.

    Sharkly — “Ray,
I separated the verse out into another paragraph, because I was onto a new topic. I was not trying to imply the vegetarians or vegans were effeminate because they didn’t eat animal products. Sorry if that was confusing.”

    Okee.

“I always thought our declaration of independence meant that all men were created of equal worth, and equal in rights.”

But they aren’t created equal in worth. Unless you mean, we’re all ‘equally worthless’ before God? That much is true.

Thus, from a faulty foundation (one based on human desires and theories, as influenced by satan), we see the growth of the inevitable demonic Empire of Equality that now rules America and much of the West.

As for ‘equal rights’, that also isn’t true. God invests us with no ‘rights’. Ever. Those ‘rights’ come from satan’s world, and satan’s systems, and those rights can (and will) be rescinded from you any time it suits the interests of others. Certainly that’s been proven in the United Sisterhood over the past half-century?

The Founders were a VERY mixed lot, with very mixed intentions, but by the standards of humans, they did a pretty good job. Problem is, any time people replace the system provided by God, with systems provided by human beings, disaster results. Human beings are easily influenced/controlled by angelic forces, which thing few (including Christians) know or understand.

For example, every nation/territory on Earth is under the general control of an angelic overseer, or guide. To really understand the events of a nation, one must understand the intentions and nature of the local presiding spirit, along with that nation’s history etc. You are a fairly mature Christian man, especially by modern standards. Are you aware of the elemental characteristics and motivations of the spirit the rules over your nation? You are not. Neither were the Founders. I could go on here, but I hope the point is made.

    Ray,

Well then spell that out for us, and provide any support for it that you might, so that we can all be as informed as yourself.
I am aware that nations, generations, races, churches, and such often have some group dispensation from God, and have angelic beings assigned, but beyond that, unless something is specifically spelled out, There are a lot of “interpretations” and speculations, but, we have enough trouble sticking to what has been stated clearly, to get too wrapped up in what has not been clearly revealed. Please share if you’ve got some further understanding of what has been revealed that might help any of us. Hinting that you’ve got special knowledge, that you don’t share, how does that help?
