Be quiet, lie back, and take it.

As reported by Ashe Schow at the Washington Examiner in Columbia student defamed by mattress girl is suing, survivor Paul Nungesser alleges that he was forced to remain silent during his long, humiliating, ordeal.  After a seven month university disciplinary process cleared Nungesser of the claims Sulkowicz (mattress girl) made against him, and after Sulkowicz’s appeal was denied, Nungesser claims he had no choice but to shut up, lie back, and take it while Sulkowicz and the university had their vile way with him:

Just days after Sulkowicz’s appeal was denied, she began getting advice from a publicist and Nungesser began being followed by the media, the lawsuit alleges. The accusers shared Nungesser’s name to the New York Post, despite a confidentiality agreement with Columbia. Sulkowicz also gave Nungesser’s name to a Columbia student reporter.

Nungesser had been abiding by the confidentiality agreement, and says in his lawsuit that Columbia University advised him to ignore the media. Nungesser says the school never took action against his accusers for breaching the confidentiality policy.

At the core of this alleged brutality is an astounding inability the university president and Sulkowicz to feel empathy for Nungesser as a fellow human being:

Columbia president Lee Bollinger is included in the lawsuit for publicly supporting Sulkowicz’s harassment campaign against Nungesser.

“This is a person who is one of my students, and I care about all of my students,” Bollinger told New York Magazine. “And when one of them feels that she has been a victim of mistreatment, I am affected by that. This is all very painful.”

Of course, no such care was taken for Nungesser.

Threats to Nungesser have appeared online and on Sulkowicz’s Facebook account, including one message suggesting Nungesser commit suicide. (Sulkowicz “liked” that comment.)

Edit:  Courtesy of Jezebel.  According to Nungesser’s lawsuit, Sulkowicz’s ugly attack on Nungesser occured after her desires for him were unrequited:

As is evident from Emma’s Facebook messages to Paul during the summer prior to their sophomore year, Emma’s yearning for Paul had become very intense. Emma repeatedly messaged Paul throughout that summerthat she loved and missed him. She was quick to inquire whether he was in love with the woman he was seeing abroad.

Thereafter, she continued purusing him, reiterating that she loved him. However, when Paul did not reciporcate these intense feelings, and instead showed interest in dating other women, Emma became viciously angry.

Strategic divulgence of information in order to harass someone is a common SJW tactic. Publicly linking this behavior to those who use it will help people connect the dots to what’s going on.

The article linked in the OP also mentions Title IX, which technically makes this sort of thing illegal…not that you can get anywhere in court with that argument.

Ironically, this girl is half asian – father is jewish and mother is asian (Sandra Leong, M.D). So, the father tried to get away by marrying an asian, but still produced a crazed feminazi. Though the fact that mom kept her maiden name suggests that that was perhaps inevitable.

P.S. I’m married to a woman of jewish descent but she doesn’t identify as either jewish or feminist. So, as with most things, YMMV.

  28. feeriker says:

Not only do many Jewish men explicitly not want to marry Jewish women, largely due to ‘feminism’, but in America, many more half-Jewish babies are being born than fully Jewish.

Word. I’ve been in close friendships over the course of my adult life with a half dozen adult Jewish men and ALL OF THEM made it clear to me at some point that they would never go anywhere near an American Jewish woman. Only two of them are/ever have been married and both married gentiles (although these were both American goy women, so I can’t imagine that these guys “traded up” very far). Feelings of revulsion from men toward Jewish women in the Western Hemisphere seem pretty universal. That certainly doesn’t bode at all well for Jewish posterity in North America. Truly tragic.

I can’t help but repeat myself, setting aside the risk of STD’s, ordinary sex outside of marriage for a man can easily end in a rape accusation.
Marital sex for a man, reputedly mundane and infrequent and usually with a fat wife, can now also lead to a rape accusation.
One’s perspective depends on the circle one travels in I suppose. Skipping all the other dangers for men associating with women or even worse wives, how can MGTOW not be on the horizon? Sex is the only real hook in this game anyway, take that away by making it to dangerous and what’s left? Ever notice how girls don’t even exist to most young boys? It’s like they’re invisible until boys approach puberty and then girls become primarily something to fear. Yeah, that swinging pendulum, maybe it is starting to slowly swing the other way but I won’t be surprised if it breaks smooth off before this show ends.

  41. Paul Nungesser will get rich out of this whole episode. Columbia has deep pockets and a multi-billion dollar endowment fund. They will settle out of court for at least $3mil or more. This whole episode will turn into the best thing has ever happened to him.

  43. I think we here in the manosphere have to remind ourselves over and over that these universities and their administrations, they most certainly do not want to take unilateral action against male students that admit to the s-x and say its consensual. I mean from a purely red pill standpoint, that is bad energy for the school. And why? Because these universities understand that her later regret for consensual s-x means she can’t win in a courtroom and people like Paul Nunguesser are willing to go to court and they are also willing to sue the school if the school acts unilaterally. Ultimately here, the courtroom (which is often a nightmare for a frivorced dad) is the greatest friend for a man falsely accused of rape. Its not one “judge” that will judge. He is NOT going to get convicted. Its not going to happen. You are not going to get 12 jurors to all concur on the feminist imperative when the evidence clearly shows he-said/she-said and reality speaks to consent. And the minute they return with a not-guilty verdict, at that moment the man now has grounds to sue a school if they took any action against him. And in this case, Columbia’s mistake was allowing this crap to continue to happen on their property, their “civil disobedience” once his name became public. Now they have some liability.

This whole thing is just… feminist ladies… seriously, stop having s-x out of wedlock. Just stop. Know yourself. If you think that you are not emotionally mature enough to have s-x with someone whom you are not married and there is even the slightest chance you might have a bit of regret later (even if it is years later) then don’t have s-x. You have no business having s-x. And going to the police one year to press charges is not going to help you. They will not prosecute. The DA is going to know that he or she is NOT going to win that case. They would not only lose the case and lose a millions tax payer dollars prosecuting, they might wind up losing their job.

    Who could be so callous?

Pretty much any random American woman you can point to.

Indeed. Women generally lack an innate sense of morality, and have no concept of moral codes. When a man does something like this, i.e. openly declare that some person he considers unpleasant should off himself, his thought process is roughly “I know it’s a nasty and immoral thing to do, but that guy is an asshole and society would be better off without him”. The woman in this case has no such thought process. It doesn’t even occur to her that her act is immoral and unbecoming to a cultured citizen of an advanced, civilized society. It just feels right, so she does it. If it feels right, it must be appropriate.

  45. “Women generally lack an innate sense of morality, and have no concept of moral codes.”

See, I disagree with you there.
I think men and women have an innate sense of morality, given to us by God. But that we can dull our sensitivity to it over time.

She’s also appeared on the cover of several national magazines. Can a book and movie deal be far behind? Perhaps a fill-in slot on The View? Or a cable talk show of her own? Maybe a run for State Assembly in order to “lend her voice” to the cause?

If Nungesser wins his case, Sulkowicz’s hope of cashing in will be permanently dashed. If the school is liable for allowing her to carry her mattress all around the campus, I am pretty sure any magazine or talk show host would be doubly liable for granting her audience in their programs. Even at this time while the case weaves its way through our legal system, no media outlet will touch her with a 50-foot pole. She is simply too radioactive.

Should Nungesser lose, Sulkowicz’s hope for a mutually rewarding relationship with a guy is still substantially diminished. Most guys will see her as a huge sexual risk and won’t want to bother. After all, there are far too many available women out there with much lighter baggage. Monica Lewinsky still has problems finding a boyfriend, twenty years after her famous blue dress revelation. Guys hate women who kiss and tell; they hate even more, women who kiss and carry mattresses around.

You tell us. I’ve dabbled through a few MGTOW forums, regrettably, and most of them focus on women 24/7/365.25. MGTOWfolk come across as a bunch of guys with little to offer women that got bent out of shape that all they could find were bottomfeeders.

Really..why would MGTOW have subforums speaking of dating if they’re…MGTOW?

  50. random stuff says:

Really..why would MGTOW have subforums speaking of dating if they’re…MGTOW?

I have personally maintained that MGTOW is a poor solution to a challenging problem. It’s like starving yourself because your local deli charges too much for their badly cooked meals. While the deli may lose your business, you are doing far more harm to yourself. A better solution is to make the deli irrelevant in your life by replacing them with better, cheaper meals.
MGTOW is unnatural, is not sustainable, and is actually an admission of defeat. At the least, it shows that the feminists have the power to force these MGTOW practitioners to accept a lifestyle they otherwise would not want. How can you claim victory when your enemies succeed in forcing you to endure an unnatural, painful state on a continual basis? If that is victory, I don’t know what defeat means.

See, I disagree with you there.
I think men and women have an innate sense of morality, given to us by God. But that we can dull our sensitivity to it over time.

We were just served toasted ice. A blogger once said “women are like water and assume the shape of the container they are in” That is a solid foundation to stand on there. women will get abortions, cuckold, lie, divorce, comment adultery, cheat ,steal, make false accusations, and slut it up. The more secure and confident the women the more immoral behavior you get. With the vote they voted it into law to not suffer any consequences for this behavior. All of this behavior are tools used to satisfy hypergamy or to relieve the anxiety of the ever present hypergamy. Hypergamy is as much a part of woman’s being as the blood in her veins. It never goes away and is completely natural and normal.
Submission to her husband and the word of God is the only relief from hypergamy’s terror. Ironically the capacity to do so is nonexistent. Responsible men make policy, law and culture that understands this. It was stated above that dread was a stronger motivation for moral behavior of a woman than any appeal to honor. That cannot ever be forgotten as a subroutine on any thought process.
Knowing the nature of women the “sweat of the bow” thing (man’s curse) comes into play when God command you to love such an immoral creature. Masking the curse with pedestalizing women to make love comfortable robs men of headship the curse of hyergamy to run free.

The only people inclined to moral behavior are beta males. Only a blog dominated and run by men have the discussion we have here.

  52. S. Chan says:

And here is the Court’s Decision for Columbia, dated April 21st:
    http://blogs.reuters.com/alison-frankel/files/2015/04/doevcolumbia-mtdopinion.pdf

The Decision makes it clear that the plaintiff was treated unfairly, and that what Columbia did was morally wrong. The Court ruled, however, that under the law there was nothing that could be done.

  53. earl says:

‘The only people inclined to moral behavior are beta males.’

St. Paul mentioned that he can will good behavior, but he can’t do it.

For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. Romans 7:18

  54. earl says:

‘ Then again, what I’ve read about his dad’s livelihood tells me he lack testicles…so, young Paul had no grasp of standards and what constitutes a decent woman.’

That’s what I meant by naive. He could certainly have been thirsty and thought drinking saltwater was a good idea.

  55. earl says:

‘But, we’re in the Information Afge and he has no excuse for that.’

Well there’s plenty of information out there…but there is also a great lack of understanding as to why this information is important.

Granted my father didn’t give me loads of advice about women…but a couple things he told me as a teenager have served me well.

‘Don’t get involved with a single mother or divorced woman, don’t be the guy to clean up another man’s mess.’

‘If she sleeps with you, she’ll sleep with anybody.’

Add that on top of the Bible verses. These things helped me greatly to escape the traps the promiscuous woman tried to use on me. I think most young men need this kind of information or else risk going into traps without knowing any better.

  56. @greyghost

I hope you will forgive me for any misunderstandings – I think a lot of the common “manosphere language” slips over my head. (I still have to google “hypergamy” to remember what it means each time I read it.)

I can do nothing good on my own – I know this. Left to my own devices, I would surely be capable (and probably guilty) of many of the sins you listed.
But as a Christian woman (a real one – not a Churchian), I have the Holy Spirit living in me, doing good through me for God’s glory, and making me more like Christ each day.
Do you agree? Or do you think women cannot be Christians?

Men and women both have sin natures, and that will consume them without the saving power of Christ. I agree that this will manifest differently for men and women, and perhaps hypergamy is the main sinful inclination that women are prone to.

    10 As it is written:
    “There is no one righteous, not even one;
    11 there is no one who understands;
there is no one who seeks God.
    12 All have turned away,
    they have together become worthless;
there is no one who does good,

    13 “Their throats are open graves;
    their tongues practice deceit.”[c]
“The poison of vipers is on their lips.”[d]
14 “Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.”[e]
    15 “Their feet are swift to shed blood;
16 ruin and misery mark their ways,
17 and the way of peace they do not know.”[f]
18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”

…except for beta males. Boy, that Paul sure was a smart guy!

“Emma Sulkowicz has basically ruined her own life and prospects for a future mate. No man will be stupid enough to enter into any kind of relationship with her now.

This is regardless of the lawsuit.”

Don’t kid yourself. You’re projecting what a rational male would do who has the “thirst” under control. Sadly, most men are slaves to the thirst.

  61. Consulting young Emma’s results in the bing images gallery, I’m treated to a rainbow array of her two-toned ombre hairstyles: vibrant purple wings, fading to a sullen lilac, then blending into a straw-hued blonde, which at some point manages to devour her entire head. Also noteworthy is the young scholar’s penchant for wifebeaters and denim cut-offs, the standard uniform of a serious intellectual.

I had my own psychotic Jewess in grad school, who also tipped her locks in purple, and this synchronicity startled me. There is, damnit all, even a similarity in the expression of the gaze. In my case, the lass was mightily overweight and unendowed, so far as the eye could see, with any non-Ashkenazi admixture (exotic or otherwise). I manfully bested her allures; but I can imagine how, half-deep into his cups, the naive gentleman might’ve been bemused for an hour by the louche allure and too-easy promises of this slender, willful-eyed whackjob.

  62. Will Best says:

Though the fact that mom kept her maiden name suggests that that was perhaps inevitable.

It is customary in Asian cultures for the wife to maintain her name. Just like it is customary in various Hispanic countries for everybody to have a hyphenated name tied to each parent’s paternal line. You can’t necessarily assume it as a mark of feminism because it is not out of line with the mother’s culture.

Apparently her mattress serves two purposes: 1)for lying while she’s asleep and 2)for lying while she’s awake

The mattress wasn’t a real mattress, it was hollow so that she would be able to carry it. So it was already a lie.

Marital sex for a man, reputedly mundane and infrequent and usually with a fat wife, can now also lead to a rape accusation.

At least when its in marriage you get the benefit of implied consent, unless under threat of violence.

The Jezebel comments are disturbing. They range from calling him a liar (hard to do when you are quoting recorded comments from 3rd parties) to not caring because there are larger issues and how dare he distract over those (fake but accurate).

  63. earl says:

‘Don’t kid yourself. You’re projecting what a rational male would do who has the “thirst” under control. Sadly, most men are slaves to the thirst.’

That’s a quite profound difference between the two types of men. Thirsts or this example about ‘hunger’.

One who is full loathes honey from the comb, but to the hungry even what is bitter tastes sweet. Proverbs 27:7

  64. S. Chan says:

The mattress wasn’t a real mattress, it was hollow so that she would be able to carry it.

I had not seen that before. Is there a reliable source?

  65. earl says:

‘The mattress wasn’t a real mattress, it was hollow so that she would be able to carry it. So it was already a lie.’

If you are talking like an actual bed mattress…it wasn’t one of those she was carrying. To me it looked more like a dorm mattress and I remember those things are pretty small and light.

  66. Sarah's Daughter says:

    @seriouslyserving,
See, I disagree with you there.

I’m going to suggest something to you that you are welcome to do with what you choose. If you choose to ignore it, there is a very predictable outcome forthcoming.

When you read something written by a man regarding spiritual issues/biblical issues/moral issues that you disagree with, take it to your husband. Ask if he’ll read the context and then read what it is you’ve found to be wrong. Ask him what his opinion on the matter is and listen. If you need more information from the man who made the comment, ask your husband how to phrase it to get clarification that won’t be interpreted as teaching or a challenge (biblical debate).

I’ve been told, “there’s nothing wrong with a woman disagreeing with a man on the internet about the Bible.” And if that were true, the outcome that we see time and time again would not occur. I’ll do you the favor (because I believe you are sincere) of explaining why I believe 1 Timothy 2:11 is not just a suggestion but rather a law similar to gravity (the more we see women attempt to disprove it, the more she walks away with broken bones – figuratively). If your disagreement is with a married man, he is the head of his marriage and his wife’s spiritual authority. God has said that obeying Him means she is to respect and submit to her husband (even if he is wrong about the Word). Does it make sense to you that another woman putting forth a challenge to that husband would be blessed? As a married woman yourself, can you imagine what you would feel if another woman challenged your husband? Can you imagine what might change in how you feel about your husband if he took that challenge from another woman and learned from her?

That isn’t to say men can’t learn anything from women. I’m talking about the context in how it happens.

If it is a single man with whom you don’t agree, pray for him and move on. Know that Proverbs 27:17 is Truth and there a plenty of men here who will take up the challenge if need be. It is not biblically supported for a married woman to challenge/teach a single man.

  67. random stuff says:

‘Don’t kid yourself. You’re projecting what a rational male would do who has the “thirst” under control. Sadly, most men are slaves to the thirst.’

True. The problem though, is that most women do not desire the thirsty betas, only their provision. She will continue to pine for the unavailable Alpha figure. Even her current rape allegation has been suggested to be a result of her break up with her “molester”. So, whatever may be the case, she is permanently ruined, unless she meets Christ in a profound way, and her life is completely made over.

  68. Sarah's Daughter says:

Another thing I’ll add (a woman who insists on trespassing on Vox Popoli just reminded me) – When you, as a married woman, challenge/argue with a man and are insistent on it and inevitably say something off color or hysterical, you risk bringing shame to your husband. Many Christian men know your husband is your spiritual authority and will view any unbecoming behavior on your part as evidence that your husband does not have sufficient handle on the ways of his household. Right or wrong, once that judgement has taken place, the responsibility lies with you. Proverbs 14:1

Something that might have spared Paul Nungesser from the full impact (not that he didn’t get the majority of it) of the Kampus Kangaroo Kourts is that he is a foreign student here on visa. If Columbia had gone all the way and kicked him out, they likely would have run into problems with the German Consul. A situation like that may need to happen however, if these college tribunals are to be abolished.

For Nungesser, hopefully this is a lesson in why being a male feminist is a bad idea.

Well, you could probably do what you wanted with her now, who is gonna believe her if she alleges anything ever again? And even a ONS will insist on doing everything at least once thats contained in the lawsuit. Note she didn’t say any of her sex antics were a lie. In fact, he probably had to leave some out just for believability.

“I’ve been told, “there’s nothing wrong with a woman disagreeing with a man on the internet about the Bible.””

I was thinking this, which is why I did respond initially. I did have a thought, “maybe I should just leave this to the men?”. But then I posted anyway because I didn’t want it to seem like I either agreed with the statement made, or disagreed but couldn’t defend my position.

“As a married woman yourself, can you imagine what you would feel if another woman challenged your husband? Can you imagine what might change in how you feel about your husband if he took that challenge from another woman and learned from her? ”

That rings true, thank you for explaining. Even though I doubt most of these men’s wives read along here, your point still stands.

  78. embracing reality says:

    MGTOW is best described, by it’s propagators like barbarossssa of youtube fame, as a mentality. I agree and might further simplify it generally as men who refuse to marry, have kids or otherwise be trapped by the feminist imperative in the modern age, namely THE FAMILY COURTS. PUA’s actually preach the later. Single men throughout the west are clearly avoiding marriage in growing numbers. Pumping and dumping sluts, maintaining casual relationships with no strings attached, ghosting or living like a hermit in the woods- Point is;

*Women’s manipulation of men is dramatically reduced without marriage and the accompanying threatpoint of divorce!* Read it again.

Don’t confuse Men Going Their Own Way with losers in their Mom’s basement who ‘cant get laid’. It’s a percentage, it’s not the majority. I’m 6’4″, fit, financially independent entrepreneur, never married, no kids, living life on easy street. I’m surrounded by a lot of men who have been destroyed by marriage.

Random stuff said “How can you claim victory when your enemies succeed”
Every man who avoids destruction in divorce court by MGTOW has won, it’s the 50% outcome of marriage! (not counting dysfunctional marriages that endure to the bitter end.)

Johnny said “You tell us. I’ve dabbled through a few MGTOW forums, regrettably, and most of them focus on women 24/7/365.25.”
This site focuses on “women” and men and marriage, divorce, corrupt family courts, sex, sexlessness, false rape accusations etc etc just like MGTOW’s. It’s educating men. Why are you here? Don’t you get it? It’s recruitment of the ignorant to become informed. Why do you think so many men are identifying as MGTOW?

I don’t get it. Are you trapped in horrible marriages and hate to see other men escape? Are you trying to convince yourself that boarding a sabotaged ship is somehow winning? More power to anyone who thinks he has a wife who’ll beat the odds (won’t withhold sex, get fat, manipulate, nag, divorce you and take your kids, home, assets, future income and every damn thing she can.). I sincerely hope you’re right. Many Pit Bull owners also apparently beat the odds..

It’s very simple, if sufficient numbers of MGTOW and refuse to take the ass raping the legal system is handing them society will be forced to recon with them. For piss sake, entire nations have been turned upside down, gutted, raised to the ground throughout world history by sufficient numbers of young men determined to do so. Who’s going to stop us? Cowardly women and their doting chivalrous old white knights? On the other hand if men just keep grabbing their ankles with stupid grins on their faces the sodomizing will continue indefinitely.

  79. embracing reality says:

    Speaking of sodomizing, this

“Emma Sulkowicz has basically ruined her own life and prospects for a future mate. No man will be stupid enough to enter into any kind of relationship with her now.”

Sadly, I only wish that were true. For a woman in fat ass amerika Emma is sexually attractive and every man here knows it. Some stupid male feminist, mangina or white knight will marry her up in a heartbeat. Put her on a pedestal and he’ll be treated like sh*t. Too many men will never learn. Thats how we got here in the first place.

  80. Eric says:

“Well I won’t fault the kid because he was probably naive but if you read the legal complaint that’s basically Red Flags 101.”

Various accounts have said he grew up in a feminist household. There’s a good chance that he was not taught “red flags 101” (common) sense about girls like Sulkowicz. Worse, he may have been indoctrinated by his own family – even his own father – to actively reject suspicious inklings about such girls as ‘misogynist’, like venerated institutions like Columbia that once educated America’s Founding Fathers have been indoctrinated to actively reject common sense and enable these girls.

Hopefully, at least the current generation of Columbia men are learning important lessons from Nungesser’s experience to make up for the misinformation they’ve been taught about such girls.

  81. Eric says:

Will Best: “It is customary in Asian cultures for the wife to maintain her name.”

Often, an Asian professional married woman will use her maiden name in a professional context but use her married name in a family context, eg, she’s “Mrs” at a parent-teacher conference.

Really..why would MGTOW have subforums speaking of dating if they’re…MGTOW?”

I self-identify as MGTOW/Enjoy the Decline and agree with you about some of those forums. I despise modern women, too, but that just means I don’t spend my free time either with them or talking about them.

But then, it’s not surprising if some guys have trouble walking away. Sex is a very strong instinct.

    random stuff @ 4:27 am:
“MGTOW is unnatural, is not sustainable, and is actually an admission of defeat. At the least, it shows that the feminists have the power to force these MGTOW practitioners to accept a lifestyle they otherwise would not want. How can you claim victory when your enemies succeed in forcing you to endure an unnatural, painful state on a continual basis? If that is victory, I don’t know what defeat means.”

It is victory because the feminists don’t want MGTOW. They want men to be enslaved under Marriage 2.0 or its Obamacare equivalent. If there’s anything our Elites hate and fear, it’s men they cannot control.

And for a Christian, enduring pain and suffering for a good cause is the very definition of victory.

As others have already stated, I doubt this woman will find a shortage of males to cater to her. Never underestimate the stupidity of the male sex. Thirsty betas are always in steady supply. @IBB- isn’t it interesting how they want to have sex out of marriage but then they won’t have sex in marriage. Indeed we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

@Sarah’s Daughter: I agree bringing dishonor on your husband and family is a risk when you leave the house. It is always a good time to remember the Proverbs on holding your tongue I suppose.

@SS: “As a married woman yourself, can you imagine what you would feel if another woman challenged your husband? Can you imagine what might change in how you feel about your husband if he took that challenge from another woman and learned from her?”

I am pretty sure it was I who suggested Sarah’s argument and your response is WHY I advocate this free speech thingy. We are challenged and we learn. All the rest is just feewings and can be safely ignored. I have had many female teachers who taught me many things. I have had female authors who opened my eyes to the questions of life the universe and everything although, concededly it was only the male authors who gave me the answers. The problem was that 42 was a pretty terrible answer until I discovered the manosphere.

  89. Sarah's Daughter says:

Do you mean that learning can occur, but not as a result of a woman teaching directly or engaging in debates?

Most of what a man might learn from a woman is innocuous to his relationship with his wife; his colleague teaching him a new system being implemented at work, how to properly raise and care for chickens, why someone with high sun exposure can still be vitamin D deficient due to a lack of dietary fat consumption – these are all things my husband learned this past week from women (certainly none of which required a woman to tell him and could have just as easily been taught by a man). In each situation my husband respected the knowledge these women had on these topics, had no reason to question it, and submitted to that knowledge. None of these examples changed the dynamic of my attraction to my husband. Even if he didn’t believe the women initially and they had a debate about it utilizing evidence and experience and he were to be proven wrong and changed his thought process on any of them, the inconsequential nature of each topic would not rouse my innate response to witnessing my husband acquiesce to a woman.

When it comes to spiritual/moral/biblical issues, Paul warned men that it was the woman who was deceived first and because of that he does not permit them to teach men. This teaching coincides with that innate response I mentioned above. I can honestly say that were my husband to debate a spiritual/moral/biblical issue with a woman and out of respect for her authority on the matter, acquiesce to her, I would have to battle the internal loss of attraction I have toward him. Yes, BPP, these are feelings. They are feelings that can be overcome for a woman if she obeys God and her respect toward her husband is not reliant on his actions. But this type of learning is not biblicaly supported and does contribute to the whispers. That is why women, in an effort to love our Christian sisters, should not actively teach or assert authority on spiritual/moral/biblical matters with their husbands. Outside of the potential for women to be guided by false teachers and led astray, it is as unkind to a married woman as gossiping about that husband and outright whispering dissension in her ear.

Again, it you’ll see it done/attempted frequently. Take note of what happens next, it is very rare for the discussion to not get heated and for the woman involved to step out of line, become emotional/hysterical and say something completely unbecoming a Christian woman.

  90. Minesweeper says:

    @BPP,
“@IBB- isn’t it interesting how they want to have sex out of marriage but then they won’t have sex in marriage.”
Because then its an obligation and expected. The only way you can get what you need out of a woman nowadays is for her to think she is in full rebellion (to society\God\parents\normality) and freedom in her actions.
Thats the only time they will ever act in your benefit.

  91. @Minesweeper: Because then its an obligation and expected. The only way you can get what you need out of a woman nowadays is for her to think she is in full rebellion (to society\God\parents\normality) and freedom in her actions. Thats the only time they will ever act in your benefit.

I think that’s a succinct description of sinful man in general. Tell a child over and over you don’t want them to do something, and they’ll run off and do it.

The problem we have today is that women have been taught that rebellion is virtuous. For some reason, men haven’t been taught this to quite the extreme degree (although they certainly have in some areas).

“The problem we have today is that women have been taught that rebellion is virtuous. For some reason, men haven’t been taught this to quite the extreme degree”

Yep, if they had taught men this, our society would crumble within years, teaching women this, has meant society will crumble within decades.

  93. @Minesweeper

Some men have already been taught this. I think the American ghetto is an example of how this endgame plays out.

  95. JDG says:

The proper form of sex is between two married people who married chaste, and who don’t have to worry about being a walking petri dish of STDs. Since pregnancy and family and children are blessings from God, there’s no worry about a pregnancy resulting from sex. And since chastity is an actual virtue, the man won’t have his mind sullied and corrupted from a decade of viewing terabytes of porn. And since gluttony is a sin as well, pregnancy doesn’t need to be paired with a fear of having a frigid, 300 lb post-partum wife.

Why is this so hard for people to figure out? God’s plan is THE plan. The close we adhere to it, the better off we are.

  96. JDG says:

The core of the lie of modern anti-Christianity and feminism is that one’s personal happiness and fulfilment is the most important good in the world. I, for one, do not think one’s sexual happiness is life’s highest and most important good, whether that happiness belongs to a man or a woman.

Seconded! Happiness (sexual or otherwise) is well and good in the proper context, but it is highly over rated as it comes and goes. Contentment beats happiness hands down IMO. We should learn to be content in all situations, and I say this as one who has much to learn.

  97. earl says:

‘Why is this so hard for people to figure out? God’s plan is THE plan. The close we adhere to it, the better off we are.’

“This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.” John 3:19

  98. JDG says:

Expect all Enemies of the State to end up with trumped-up rape charges.

I’m pretty sure we’re all “Enemies of the State” at one level or another. Those that aren’t main stream and PC are more obviously enemies than the useful idiots, but the idiots won’t always be useful. I sure hope I’m just paranoid and delusional about the affairs of the state, but if I am, why is history so often repeated?

  99. Sarah's Daughter says:

Sometimes I don’t think far enough ahead about the consequences of my actions.

You are not alone. Regrettably most of what I share comes from my own experience and failings.🙂

There is a teaching that is sadly lacking in Christian women’s communities. It’s great to see it here and there on blogs like this one (usually by men who see it as obvious or women like lgrobins who aren’t afraid to say it) and that is our own fault and contributions to the destruction of marriage – even though we profess a desire to see marriage succeed. Considering how most women have been raised and the societal influences they’ll experience, it is hard enough to battle their own rebellion to God’s Word regarding marriage. Part of supporting Christian women in marriage and encouraging them to turn from rebellion is a commitment to not be the cause of her foot to stumble. There is a line between a woman who needs to analyze her own insecurities and temptations to rebel and a woman who, through no fault of her own, has had another Christian woman unknowingly or intentionally done something that can disrupt and sow discord in her marriage.

This teaching is something I’ve been focusing on with my daughters (at a very teenage level). Even when I know their intentions are for good, I will insist they look at things from everyone’s perspective to see if their actions could be an interpreted wrong and if so, they need to avoid doing those things – “love your neighbor.”
