  3. Might have to buy it. We’ll see.

  4. Bluepillprofessor says:

I am 50% through the Kindle version. Rollo picks up from The Rational Male and takes a post from Chateau on gaming girls in different stages of life which he expands into a treatise on life pathways for women and what men can expect at each stage of life. There is more real information about the life course in this book than any 1,500 page Developmental Psychology class textbook you will ever have the misfortune to read.

Congratulations Rollo on another superb work that once again sets a standard others can only dream of approaching.

Good to see another addition to the Great Books For Men[tm].

  6. Dear Dalrock,

I took everyone’s advice here and I got married.

Even though I did my best to treat marriage as a flying dentistry hedge fund trading in oil futures, it still didn’t work out.

    http://www.theloop.ca/newlywed-wants-divorce-because-husbands-penis-is-too-big/

I almost felt a pang of despair, but then I recalled the wisdom here that sadness and despair are “sins” and “arrogance.”

So I proudly say that I felt neither despair nor sadness, as I realized that I have A LOT to be humble about. More than most men in the room at any given moment. And thus, in my supreme humility I have avoided the sins of despair, sadness, and arrogance.

    i’ll check out rollo’s book!🙂

Have you considered contacting Lorena Bobbit? Maybe she could help you out in that area.

  8. Bluepillprofessor says:

GBFM is a coal burning Nigerian? I suspected as much. Now that you’re married bro, you can post over on http://www.reddit.com/r/marriedredpill/. I’m sure the insights of the best troll in all the manosphere would be a big hit.

I am also glad that the now married GBFM has discovered game. With that big cockalotsalololzzzllz you would now need extra helpings of game to manage the tingles so even the anti game GBFM now agrees. It would not be much of a stretch to imagine his anti-game nonsense ripped and torn, shredded even, by the hard thumping thrust of reality.

  9. earl says:

‘Even though I did my best to treat marriage as a flying dentistry hedge fund trading in oil futures, it still didn’t work out.’

You must have not used enough game in your business transaction and her tingles went below the requirement to stay married. You need to be less Christian and more Christian Grey. Negs, abundance mentality, etc. The great books surely have nothing of great wisdom during this zeitgeist.

  10. Of all the manosphere authors, there are only three that are any good.

    1. Rollo, for a rational and clear-headed understanding of the natures of women and men.

    2. Heartiste, for a hilarious and cynical yet true take on the modern sexual marketplace.

    3. Dalrock, for the basics of Christian marriage and how the modern Church has lost the traditional understanding of it.

    Everyone else is an also-ran.

  11. Darryl Savage says:

I paged through it on Amazon. Frankly, it seemed kind of pompous to me. Sure, the info’s good—but it’s not unique. It’s more like what everyone in saying in the manosphere. Plus with way too many graphs, as if what he’s discussing is rocket science or something.

I have nothing against Rollo Tomassi, but based on this book, it seems as if he’s trying to ape academic-style writing—and failing. Instead of sounding learned, he sounds sententious. Instead of insightful, he comes across as patronizing. Instead of clever, he comes across as . . . well, honestly? He comes across as kind of slow.

Look, I’m just an asshole with an opinion. Take it as you will.

    The also-rans include:

    Thomas Jefferson
    Virgil
    Homer
    Dante
    Shakespeare
    Washington
    Hamilton
    Jesus
    Moses
    Paul
    Einstein
    Plato
    Socrates
    Aristotle
    Euripidies
    Aurelius
    Seneca
    Newton
    Galileo
    Leonardo da Vinci
    Hayek
    Mises

And then men wonder why overall, marriages and culture keep declining.🙂

Those would be my top 3. Considering the source of their material.

  16. @GBFM

None of those people are “manosphere” authors.

  17. Dear Hipster Racist,

Why do you suppose that is?

Our fathers once ran the universities, schools, and churches, and all the above books were the center and circumference of their sphere.

Instead today we have lzolzlzlzloonone of those people are “manosphere” authors, nor are they ever exalted by the manospherelzlzozozozo so nyah hnyah nhyan nyah poopiesizizi lzlzozoz

  18. desiderian says:

“Our fathers once ran the universities, schools, and churches, and all the above books were the center and circumference of their sphere.”

No, those were our grandfathers and great-grandfathers. I arrived on the scene just as they were retiring and our fathers and mothers were welcoming in those who gleefully burned those books. Now those fathers and mothers are too proud or cowed to admit their error.

The manosphere authors are the very rocks crying out for truth against the lies of those who rape and pillage our heritage amidst the silence of our fathers and mothers. In doing so, they take their place proudly alongside Hanson, Sailer, Thornton, George, Thomas, Sowell, BasedMom, Correia, and many other brave contemporary voices on the local level.

Their courage is timely, your list timeless.

  19. earl says:

‘The manosphere authors are the very rocks crying out for truth against the lies of those who rape and pillage our heritage amidst the silence of our fathers and mothers.’

Coming up next…more ways to pass sh-t tests and and how to neg like an alpha.

If that’s the case they should keep the focus on destroying feminism and its lies, and not setting up a system on how to game a woman infected by feminism.

  20. Well stated Earl:

“Coming up next…more ways to pass sh-t tests and and how to neg like an alpha.

If that’s the case they should keep the focus on destroying feminism and its lies, and not setting up a system on how to game a woman infected by feminism.”

desiderian and much of the rest of the manosphere are quite content to abdicate the schools, churches, and universities–the culture–which their fathers held so dear, just as long as they get their cockaksksz wetsz in bungzhzhzozlzizlzo via neggingzzlzlzozozl.

’tis the genius of marxist feminism, that those who think they are countering it by gamey gamezlzolozo are advancing it.

while Jefferson et al. loved and exalted Epic Poetry, Philosohy, and Prophecy, desiderian sees gameyzyz negging advicez and a bit of biology every bit as good. “We’re all just a bunch of butt tinzgzlzlzolzozozo!” is their leading cry in the culture war as they game their wife or some other variant of a “feminist,” as they deem themselves victorious while their schools, churches, culture, and universities are lost.

  21. desiderian says:

    GBFM,

No, I’ve abdicated nothing. Our fathers held other things more dear than those institutions and the Truth upon which they were built. Our great books are not unclear about the consequences of such decisions. They are grave, but they are not final.

Game as the PUAs teach it is a poor imitation of Christian headship, but it is an imitation, not the usurpation that feminism has become. Allies are needed to put down that usurpation – do you imagine that Odysseus cleared out the suitors alone upon his long-awaited return to Ithaca? Was it their pure-hearted devotion to the Gods that led men to rally to his banner? Their scholarly appreciation of the great works of Hesiod and Pindar? Who was there to teach them when all the best had gone off to war?

“I almost felt a pang of despair, but then I recalled the wisdom here that sadness and despair are ‘sins’ and ‘arrogance.'”

What I feel is grief, and more than a pang. But that is not despair, not in Christ.

Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.
